darTealing lounge is so adorable! i bought the bloomspot deal and took my mom, sister, her 2 daughters & our 2 cousins out for some high tea! we had a pot of hot chocolate along with 3 different types of teas which included a black tea called the “big keemum on campus”, a green tea called “cabana boy” and an oolong tea called “in dew time”. to eat, we had the classic cucumber with fresh herbs, turkey & pesto cream, darjeeling curried chicken, smoked salmon & capers, strawberries & cream and PB&J. of course, no high tea is complete without some cookies & biscuits! paired with the lemon curd and the biscuits were super yummy!!! there was more than enough sandwiches and tea to go around and we have a lovely family filled afternoon *^.^* definitely a day to remember!

i had a wonderful brunch at cotogna this past weekend! their mismosa was different from your typical mimosa. it was made with prosecco, orange juice and cocchi, a type of wine… it was delicious! next we had some blueberry scones & savory biscuits with strawberry & blueberry jelly/jam! the savory biscuits were my favorite but i did enjoy the blueberry scones too. i had the croque madame and my friend ordered the pork belly dish with eggs, potatoes & i think spinach and caramalized onions. i don’t remember the exact name of the dish but what i do remember is that it was SO good! my friend couldn’t stop saying how good it was! and the croque madame was definitely a hit as well. cotogna’s croque madame was more like a sandwich with less cheese than a typical croque madame but it was scrumptious! i enjoyed every bite!

YUM! my favorite is the bacon cheddar & scallion biscuits from brown sugar kitchen in oakland! beware, long wait on saturday & sundays for breakfast/brunch/lunch. expect 1-2 hours or more depending on what time you go.

went to prospect for the “neighbor” special brunch pricing last month…glad we caught it b/c everything was deeeelicious! we ordered the apple wood smoked salmon tartine, the monkey bread, shrimp & grits and waffles! i thought the rye bread that was used in the apple wood smoked salmon tartine could have been more crunchy but other than that, everything tasted great! especially the monkey bread!!!
